La Lampe Frechin – Table Lamp

Where Science Meets Sculpture

Designed by Jean-Louis Frechin, this illuminated sculpture blurs the line between art and engineering. Crafted from glass, marble, and aluminum, its warm optical glow transforms any interior into a study of modern serenity.

La Lampe Frechin is where design becomes alchemy — a poetic dialogue between materiality and light. Conceived by French architect and digital design pioneer Jean-Louis Frechin, this piece redefines illumination as a sensory experience. It fuses glass, marble, and gilded metal into a composition that feels both ancient and futuristic, revealing light as both substance and sensation.

Its elongated glass tube, poised atop a marble base and golden support, recalls the intrigue of a telescope — a vessel of discovery. With a soft, warm LED glow (2700K) and a three-step touch dimmer, it moves seamlessly between atmosphere and focus. Tilt it upright for a statement of form or incline it gently to evoke intimacy — the effect is always cinematic, immersive, and deeply human.

Included in the permanent collections of the Centre Pompidou and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, La Lampe Frechin embodies design as an art of emotion — timeless, visionary, and enduring.
