Founders thoughts
TIAMTREE is a Korean woodcarver whose practice explores the expressive possibilities of diverse wood species. Beginning in furniture-making before dedicating herself fully to carving in 2019, she creates vessels, tea utensils, and sculptural objects that honor each material's inherent character.
Her work is rooted in slow, meditative process—removing wood fragment by fragment to reveal form. Recent pieces draw from childhood memories of rural Korea, translating the gardens and landscapes of her youth into objects that feel both ancient and contemporary.

Edition: Limited series, each piece unique
Black persimmon wood is among the rarest materials a woodworker can encounter. Its distinctive dark patterns form slowly over decades as minerals migrate through the living tree—a process impossible to replicate or predict. The natural openings in this piece occurred organically as the wood aged, creating voids that speak to time's quiet artistry.
After completing this series, TIAMTREE believes she will not find material of comparable quality again. What you see here represents not simply scarcity, but irreplaceability.
This piece ships insured with specialised packaging to protect during transit. Given the irreplaceable nature of the material and one-of-a-kind status, all sales are final.

Display the vase as a standalone sculptural object, allowing its form and natural openings to create shifting shadows throughout the day. Nestle a single dried botanical—a persimmon branch, seed pod, or winter grass—in its opening. Or let it exist as pure form: a meditation on patience, time, and the beauty of imperfection.
The wood's natural oils will continue to deepen over years, developing a richer patina with gentle handling. No treatments needed—simply dust with a soft, dry cloth and keep away from direct sunlight and extreme humidity.
